While on more interplanetary hijinx and mayhem I was told of the come out as a pirate day - WOO HOO!!!! Pirates of all travel destinations HELLO! ((I'm very excited to be here))
I am a Space Pirate and I LOVE IT!!! Now I must be off in search of "the goods"....think of something good and I'm probably looking for it. *impish grin* Current Mood: It's a pirates life for me!

Avast! I too be looking for plunder and booty. And rum. Can't forget about the rum. Current Mood: Scurvy Free
I wish to announce
Ladies, gentlemen, gentlefolk, gentlebeings and/or roughbeings, I am in the mood to sack, loot and burn something. Who's with me? Current Mood: piratical
So it occurs to me that in addition to today being Coming Out Like A Pirate Day, it is also Scotchtoberfest
... so I guess being a McDonald, I should be dressing up like a Scotish pirate today. Unfortunately, while I think some of my co-workers would quite enjoy it, I'm pretty sure it would violate company policy. Arrr.
It's also apparantly Trafalger Day today. Current Mood: happy

Gratuitous Icon Post
My dear mate has created the following portrait for me, so I have the great honor of presenting myself to this group as Sir Henry Morgan, Knight, Privateer, and, from time to time, pirate.
At your service, gentlemen, ladies, and others. Current Mood: piratical
Avast! Only one week t' go until International Coming Out Like A Pirate Day
So, it has been asked of your faithful moderator, "I'm unclear on the subject. How, exactly, does one come out as a pirate?"
Well, it isn't obvious and at the same time, it is. Life is full of these conundra.
It isn't obvious in the sense of if it, were you'd be doin' it already and not askin' me. But that's okay: in addition to ocassionally piloting the Flaming Tolerance
I also discourse on the obvious from time to time.
Coming out like a pirate (to me, anyways) means being yourself only moreso. It means that you put an end to denying those parts of you that you keep hidden away for fear of what someone else might
say, even though they haven't said boo about it to you yet. Because they never knew about that part of you because you've been hiding it.
See what I mean about conundra?
When you come out like a pirate it means acknowledging that the first person you have to tolerate is yourself.
But that's my answer and I'm only one voice upon the vasty sea. What do you think coming out like a pirate means for you?
